Call me by your name di Luca Guadagnino continua il suo avvicinamento alla notte degli Oscar con la candidatura come miglior pellicola ai Golden Globe 2018. Il film del regista siciliano se la vedrà con altri 4 avversari: in corsa per il riconoscimento ci sono Dunkirk di Christopher Nolan, The Post di Steven Spielberg, The Shape of Water di Guillermo del Toro e Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri di Martin McDonagh. Nonostante la candidatura del suo film come Guadagnino non correrà per il premio di miglior regista.
Guadagnino, già in corsa per l’Oscar al miglior film straniero, ha portato alla possibile vittoria del Golden Globe anche Armie Hammer e Timothée Chalamet (rispettivamente in gara come miglior attore non protagonista e protagonista). In lizza per il premio di miglior attore non protagonista c’è Christopher Plummer, l’attore voluto da Ridley Scott per sostituire Kevin Spacey in All the money in the world.
